Weeks Eleven and Twelve--FAIL

Ugh, my first weeks of failure...I'm very sad to have to write this blog entry.

I have tried for two weeks to read Marked by P.C. Cast. This book is NEVER in my library--always checked out and students absolutely rave about the House of Night series. But I just couldn't get into it.

And I definitely admit that I am not a prude when it comes to reading. I'm aware that a lot of YA fiction is R-rated in content or language. But I was pretty turned off by this one. I felt like the authors were trying too hard to be witty/sarcastic, and I just don't believe that teenagers talk in the dialogue given to them. And I had trouble with an early scene...I just didn't feel it was necessary, especially since it was a little inappropriate in my book.

So, after two weeks, I put it down (much to the dismay of my House of Night fans who assured me that the books get better in the series!). But that's ok...I was a little ahead on this challenge so I'm still on track.

I'd like to say I'll try this one again later but I'm just not too sure.
