To say that Bliss Inthemorningdew has had an unusual upbringing is an understatement. Raised by hippie parents, she has no concept of fashion, boys, or dances. In fact, she is completely oblivious to teen social life, like cliques, gossip, public schools, and dating. But that is all about to change when Bliss's parents drop her off with her southern grandmother so they can flee to Canada (and avoid the Vietnam draft). Now Bliss has to start school and learn what it means to live an "un-hippie" life.On top of all that, Bliss has been hearing a strange voice...and this voice may be the voice of a student who died years ago. Could it be that Bliss is hearing a ghost?
I thought this book was a pretty good read. It has two interesting sides to it--Bliss trying to fit in to her new life and the horror/ghost side. It was a little creepy at times, especially with a few of the friends that Bliss tries to make, but that's what makes it a good horror story. I read this over Fall Break and found it to be a good spooky read.
