Week Thirteen Book Thirteen--Right Behind You

I really enjoy author Gail Giles. She has some great fiction that keeps you on the edge of your seat (like What Happened to Cass McBride?) and ready for action. So I was excited to pick up one of her newer books, Right Behind You, and it didn't disappoint. *Plus I'm back on track with my reading schedule!

Kip is a nine-year-old boy living in Alaska when the unthinkable happens--he sets another boy on fire. The boy dies, and Kip is shipped off to a juvenile center. The question: did Kip do it on purpose? And what should his punishment be?

Fast forward five years and Kip, now under the new alias Wade, is trying to move on with his life in Indiana. But when his new friends and schoolmates learn about his past, will they be as willing to forgive? Or will they want to make him pay for his history?

This was a very quick read and really gets you thinking. How do you move on from past incidents? Are you inevitably going to carry guilt and memories with you forever?
