The first, Divergent by Veronica Roth, was EXCELLENT. It's about a girl named Beatrice who lives in futuristic Chicago where people live in communities based off of personality type. Beatrice has grown up in Abnegation, known for their selfless acts, but she has the option at age 16 to join another community and leave her family forever. While she loves her family, she is also turning towards Dauntless, a community known for their courage and risk-taking. Everyone should read this book--it was phenomenal!
Then I read Anya's Ghost, a graphic novel about a Russian American named Anya who falls down a well and meets a ghost. The ghost convinces her to help her find her murderer, but Anya is unprepared for what she ACTUALLY discovers about Anya. This one was ok for me--I loved the illustrations but the storyline was a little immature.
So Week 23 and I'm on book 21...I've got some catching up to do!
